I first met Ben at the Australian Bridal Industry Awards night. He was the guy that everyone knew, he wore a smile from ear to ear and gave off a feeling of warmth and comfort. He won the award for Master of ceremonies for the third year in a row that night and I knew it wouldn’t be the last I heard of him. Since then I’ve followed him closely and know that not only is he a legend of a guy…. He’s actually a great DJ, MC and entertainer. It was an obvious choice to make Ben my first industry
recommendation as Mr January!
Ben’s journey started 24 years ago (I know he doesn’t even look that old) when he had his first DJing gig at a year 7 disco. He nailed it and from there his DJing career organically grew. When he turned 18 he started working in pubs and clubs and even had his own radio program on FreshFM for 11 years, three of which he was nominated for an award. He did a few weddings along the way but his passion for the wedding industry really flourished around 9 years ago.
When you talk to Ben about his weddings his eyes light up and you can see he is personally invested. He likes to get to know his couples closely and he builds close friendships with many of them. He makes it his mission to ensure his couples have an amazing wedding night and that everyone in the room is entertained all night long. If you have seen Ben in action you know it’s his MC skills that really set him apart from some other entertainers. He is funny, easy going, relaxed and highly entertaining. And although I don’t want to give away all his secrets this guy has an amazing array of games that will keep your guests talking for years to come. He doesn’t believe in ‘normal’ weddings because well…. Pppffffft they’re boring.
