The Lovely Ink Co creates bespoke wedding and special event stationery. They work with brides and grooms on everything from ‘save the dates’ to ‘welcome signage’ to ‘thank you’ cards. They are passionate about helping couples bring their ideas to life and build excitement for their special day from the moment their guests receive their invitation.
Based in South Australia The Lovely Ink Co was founded by Cat, a dog crazy, smashed avo and haloumi obsessed, font lover. She grew up on Kangaroo Island, where her parents were dairy farmers and now own a café. Cat started making invitations, logos and signs for her friends and then friends of friends, before she knew it the word had spread and thus began The Lovely Ink Co.
When I asked Cat what she loves about making wedding invitations she said ‘I am a bit old fashioned in that I love receiving a proper letter or card in the post. It’s rare these days to see much else apart from bills. I mean, how exciting is it when you see a lovely coloured envelope in that pile of bills? You know it’s going to be good! Not only that, I love design, searching for new fonts and even dabbling a bit in hand-lettering.’
The Lovely Ink Co specialise in all forms of wedding stationary, including save the dates, invitation suites (RSVP cards, wishing well cards, maps, info cards), wedding day items such as menus, place-cards and signage, thankyou cards, even Snapchat filters! Cat likes to have a feel for your tone and style, so photos, examples or a Pinterest mood board will always help. She will share a few concepts with you and once they are tweaked accordingly, approved and signed off, they are printed. When she receives the finished product, she sends you a photo before packaging them up beautifully with a little gift and posting them out.
